I developed the brand identity for Brixton People's Kitchen, a community-led charity that rescues surplus food from local supermarkets and transforms it into nourishing meals for the people of Brixton. The project aimed to create a visual identity that reflected the organisation's mission while celebrating the neighbourhood's vibrant, diverse, and creative spirit.
The identity draws inspiration from Brixton's eclectic culture, combining expressive typography with bold colours that evoke warmth, energy, and inclusivity. The handwritten logotype introduces a human, approachable feel, while the strong sans-serif type provides clarity and confidence. Together, they create a visual language that feels both welcoming and contemporary.
The branding was designed to work across a range of touchpoints, from signage and packaging to merchandise and event materials. Simple, adaptable applications on takeaway bags, enamel mugs, and community spaces ensure the identity remains recognisable while supporting the charity's grassroots ethos.
Beyond creating a logo, the project focused on building a brand that reflects community, sustainability, and shared experiences, capturing the idea that food can bring people together while reducing waste and supporting those who need it most.
